Frequently Ask Question
How do I clean my Timber Floor?
Moisture is the biggest enemy of Timber Floors so it is important to note this. For specific cleaning instructions please speak to us so we can direct you to the appropriate information relative to the product you have purchased.
Can you re sand Timber Flooring?
Yes you can - Solid Timber allows for more re sanding than Engineered Timber does. It is suggested you check the specifications of your product prior to re sanding as some products allow for more re-sands than others.
How long does Timber flooring last?
With the correct care and maintenance Timber Flooring can last 10-15 years. It is expected at this point that most people would re sand and polish their timber floor to rejuvenate it and keep it looking new.
What is solid Timber Flooring?
Solid Timber Flooring is just that - a solid piece of wood all the way through. Available in solid "pre finished" or solid "raw". Raw meaning once the boards are laid the installer will need to sand and polish the product.
What is engineered Timber Flooring?
Engineered Timber is a multi layered flooring product constructed of a timber veneer or lamination top layer sitting on a substrate such as plywood or pine. Engineered Timber is designed to not need any acclimatisation prior to install meaning the product is more stable than solid timber planks. Installation of this product is usually quicker and easier than its counterpart solid timber also.
What is a floating floor?
This is a term given to hard flooring that is installed using a click system. Enabling the flooring to float on the substrate. Floating floors feel great to walk on due to having a bit of movement within them from not being fixed down to the substrate; this creates a cushioning effect as you walk throughout.
What is SPC flooring?
SPC is a version of Hybrid Flooring (Stone Polymer Composite), this is a high quality version which typically has a high content of Limestone within it making the product extremely stable & hard wearing.
Hybrid Flooring on stairs?
YES! We can install Hybrid Flooring on your staircase, in-fact some of our products even offer custom “bullnose” (square edge) stair nosings. We send the product away to a local manufacturer prior to instillation, who hand molds the planks into custom stair nosings in your selected colour – These are then glued down and siliconed around the edges. The result a stunning custom feature staircase!
How quickly can I get my new flooring installed?
We pride ourselves on efficiency. If you have a deadline that needs to be met, please contact us as soon as possible, and we will do our best to make it work for you.
What services does Beare Flooring offer?
Beare Flooring has all your flooring needs covered. We are a flooring retailer but we don’t just stop there. We are able to uplift & dispose of your old flooring, along with arranging floor preparation should it be required and of course we are also very knowledgeable with years of experience and happy to help with product advice for your selection process too.
Can Hybrid Flooring be laid over tiles?
One of the major advantages of this product is the fact that it can be installed directly over tiles, typically with little to no floor preparation required. It is essential that your floor is level for the boards to be laid over, and that the tile grout lines are thin and the tiles are not drumming.
Is Hybrid Flooring durable?
Yes it is very durable, as any product on the market there are different versions of Hybrid which will perform differently. Beare Flooring carefully select our product ranges to ensure we only work with the highest quality products and can discuss the durability further with you in our FREE measure & quote.
